This one is hard for a woman in ED recovery. It seems to be telling us we better get our shit straight no matter our sickness, because He is coming, and when He comes, you better be ready to ride or die. While that is true, in a sense, there is an amazing caveat to the sentiment, written right into the Gospel: “each with his own work.”

This is the key takeaway. We each have been given a certain and unique path to Jesus and to heaven.

Knowing yourself, your faults, your sins, and your heavenly charge is knowing heaven, knowing Christ, and knowing the hardship of healing your brokenness will be entirely worth it in the end. Completing our charge -- no matter how small -- will fill our hearts and give us the strength to say yes to Him more and more, in greater and greater capacity. Stretching and thriving more and more in our Metanoia and growth beyond an eating disorder. When *that* day comes, we’ll be able to tell Jesus we completed our work, and have been alert on the watch!
