Welcome to the Sermon on the Mount!
This theme is repeated over and over again in the Gospels: we have no idea when God is coming back to earth, but we know he is. We can choose to be as prepared as we can be *OR* we can choose to putz around, build a few sand castles, and get tossed out into the wailing and grinding of teeth when He finally does come. Yikes. I’ll take the first one.
Don’t let yourself get buffeted around. Stand firm in knowing you are made surely and profoundly in the image of God. You deserve to eat well, sleep well, and know you are a (in a totally non-objectifying-ly way) *A BRICK HOUSE*. TY Lionel Riche for that flawless analogy.
